TriNoma Unveils Digital 3D Cinema

It was a privilege to be a part of a momentous event for TriNoma Cinemas last night as it launched its Digital 3D Cinema. My 4 year old son and I enjoyed the special screening of Ice Age 3. Special thanks to Geiser Maclang for the invites!

Super New Dishes from Super Bowl of China

Our family has been a bunch of regular patrons of Super Bowl of China since 2005. Thanks to Yehey!, because earlier today we were given a sneak taste of their super new dishes, namely: Golden Weave Cut US Frozen Potatoes with Minced Pork, Beef Fillet Chinese Style, Crispy Fish Fillet with Lemon and Plum Sauce and Hot and Spicy Chicken. Everything was good but my favorite is the Golden Weave Cut US Frozen Potatoes with Minced Pork. Yumm-o!

That is an additional thing to go back to on top of my long time favorite, Yang Chow from Super Bowl of China. The very first thing that attracted me to the restaurant is the NO MSG ADDED dishes that they have.

Pearl shopping in Boracay

One of the things that I enjoyed doing in Boracay is the pearl jewelry shopping. It is situated within bodies of water, which explains the abundance of the jewelry. They are everywhere. From the clusters of boutiques and specialty stores within D’Mall to the peddlers and vendors all around the island.

Resto Review: Flaming Wings | New York Buffalo Wings

dsc_0158

Last Saturday was the second time we have been to Flaming Wings in Katipunan. Definitely the best affordable buffalo New York style chicken wings place I have been to, so far. During our first visit, we ordered Linguini in Clam Sauce for P108 and 5 piece chicken wings (that easily became 10 pieces) for P211. We ended up having the rest of the chicken wings to go, because they were still a lot after my husband and I got ourselves full with the oil rich plates we ordered.

Flaming Wings’ original sauce and bleu cheese dip are so good that we have gotten kinda stuck to it. So we have not tried the other variants yet. Sauces to choose from are: Original, Mild n’ Sweet, Wild, Smokey BBQ and Carribean Jerk. For dips: Bleu Cheese, Honey Mustard, Ranch, Aioli, Balsamic Mayo and Wasabi Mayo.

The steal is their combo package of sorts where you get to order the good ‘ol chicken wings (2pcs.) and it comes with rice and iced tea. You also choose the sauce and dip variants for only P110. The same price also applies for their Chicken Tenders combo. What’s sweet about this package is the iced tea does not come in kids party cups sizes. A tall, decent glass of iced tea/juice that perfectly complements the meal is served with the package.

Slimming Pills Review

diet-pillDo you know that 97% of diet pills do not work? This is the one thing that struck me when I was looking into the statistics of people having weight problems. If you think you have a weight issue, then it is only but wise to review about diet pills and listen to what others have to say about them. Trying a pill without a doctor’s advise is risky enough, let alone trying one slimming pill after another.

While it is true that it can be extremely tempting, especially when advertisements claims the most impossible things, people are lured to believe them to be true. Consumers must strive to look and investigate further before actually trying any diet pill for themselves.

Read reviews first before popping a pill in your mouth. Testimonials help. Also consult with your doctor first.

School Supplies Shopping over at Metro East

school-suppliesFor a whole bunch of the population, school supplies shopping is done and over with at this time of the year. But for us, homeschoolers (having a more flexible time), we practically have time in our hands.

Another benefit that we recently experienced is not having to call a “no class day” for just about any reason. While schools all over the metropolis are suspending classes, if not for the H1N1 virus scare, the typhoon crisis- we were right at home treading the waters of Preschool with Ace and Christi.

Homeschoolers do the school supplies shopping and we enjoyed it through and through. We did that early last week. We jumped from one bookstore place, NBS to office warehouse where we got my son’s cork board, globe and other office furniture. These office and school supply stores just have the same or very minimal difference in prices. While office warehouse in Robinson’s Metro East have a friendlier layout than NBS. As expected, NBS can be pretty cluttered because of a lot of children’s supplies and knick knacks for school. Having both of these in one establishment benefits the public in comparing prices and shifting from here to there to check for items availability.

Boracay Accommodation Review: Taj Guesthouse

Taj Guesthouse Boracay is where we stayed during our vacation in the white sand island. I am glad to report that we only have good words about the place. Situated in Station 2 in the island of Boracay, around thirty steps away from the beach front, there is just no way you can go wrong availing of their accommodation.

We were warned beforehand by friends that we have to watch out and make sure where we will stay will not be flooded just in case it will rain hard. Given the fact that Taj Boracay was so close to the beach front, there could be that risk. But I am so happy to tell you that we saw for ourselves during the times that it did rain (usually in the afternoons and hard ones at that), it was practically impossible for the place to get flooded because Taj Guesthouse is elevated. I think they foresaw the possibility of flood from the rains, unlike other nearby accommodation places. That alone made us feel secure that we would not have to “float around” in the wettest of seasons. Because we do plan to go back and never are we going back during the supposedly “peak season.” You ask why? If we were there during the supposedly “lean season” and there was already a crowd, I cannot imagine how a peak season would look like.

tajboracay

Make sure you reserve your accommodation with them ahead of time. They are fully booked even during lean season. It is lovely to enjoy Boracay and not let the accommodation burn a hole in your pockets. The staff and the owner of the place were very hospitable and you get all the must haves in an accommodation for such affordable rates.

Managing Finances by Credit and Debt Consolidation

debt-reviewscornerBeing able to manage ones finances in the midst of the current global economic crisis can be considered a feat. It might be a challenge but it definitely is not impossible. There are a few institutions that offer good debt consolidation programs and it should be wise to look into them and consider how it is going to help your current financial standing.

If one happens to have an outstanding payable with an institution, debt negotiation is not exactly the easiest thing to do. In fact, if they could at all squeeze you out of your resources and have you pay for just the interest forever they will do it. Credit consolidation is the wisest way to take control of your finances. It will not just prove to be the most convenient for you. You get to monitor just a single account for all the outstanding financial debts you have. No more different due dates to keep track of, even interest rates. More than that, you are able to know for sure what your financial future holds for you.

When you get into this kind of program, you are challenged to set a goal when you will be free of your current obligations. Thus, giving you a real better credit standing and the hope of a debt free life in the future.

Yoshinoya Japanese Fast Food

yoshinoyaYoshinoya is a break away from our more traditional fastfood place like Jollibee and McDonald’s. What I usually order in Yashinoya is their Gyudon (beef bowl) with green tea. I love their green tea, for sure. But there is always something about their Gyudon that’s a little too much for my taste. Their gyoza isn’t very remarkable as well. Their miso soup is also okay, nothing close to Hana’s of Little Tokyo. I could have a Yashinoya meal once in a while, but not very often.

img_5895 img_5894

The service crew of Yashinoya is good. I should say, better than most fastfood place in the metro. From their branch in Megamall to their more closer branch here in Stal. Lucia mall, consistent good service. Prices of food meals are all reasonable but you also can’t expect them to be very generous with their servings. So if you are taking some kind of diet pill, you don’t have to worry that you’ll eat too much. :-)
