Gone are the days when grocery cashiers would go into every single merchandise and fumble for it’s price, then manually entering the figures to the machine. That is something you do not get to see very often nowadays. I believe this is completely eradicated in all first world countries.

But there is this one supermarket that I used to favor over others – Hi Top Supermarket. It does not use barcode scanners. Not very high tech, eh? But the thing is this supermarket sells cheaper items by a peso to ten each! So imagine all the savings especially if you are grocery shopping by the bulk.

Needless to say, despite the non-tech savvy supermarket Hi Top is, I still favor this over others. Simply because it gives me more value for my money.
