Php299 Eat-All-You-Can promo a welcome gift to both new and old customers.

The Good Earth Tea Room reopens at the 2nd level of Greenbelt 3 in Makati City with a fresher look and an improved line up of authentic Asian dishes.

After undergoing renovation last month, now the only remaining Good Earth resto opens its doors with a more cozy and inviting ambiance which is reminiscent of its original look when it first opened in the metropolis. This old-new ambiance adds to the overall effect of making diners feel that they are in a relaxing as well as thrilling place when it comes to gastronomic adventure.

Good Earth Chef Henry Cheung’s training in the kitchens of Hong Kong and his being an audacious traveler resulted in his fusion-style of cooking, merging Chinese with Western influences. Chef Cheung’s modern and innovative take on dishes makes Good Earth dishes a pleasant surprise even to those who are used to the more traditional Chinese cooking.

And, as a welcome gift to both its loyal patrons as well as new diners, Good Earth is offering an Eat-All-You-Can buffet menu consisting of 12 items including appetizers, main course and rice for only Php299.

Starting off in 1994 as a small eatery in an independent art gallery in Magallanes, Good Earth has been offering its fusion cuisine comprising appetizers like Tunaquitos, a cleansing dish of raw tuna with spring onions served in a taco shell with white sauce and wasabi, and a version of the popular Tex-Mex taquito, the Duckquitos, made up of roast duck with white sauce and black sesame seeds still in the traditional taco shell.

There is also Lily on the Pond, a delectable steamed dimsum made of a mix of vegetables and prawns in a spicy curry and white coconut cream sauces, as well as Crispy Chicken Pao and Duck Siopao.

Good Earth’s mouth-watering entrée include Popoy’s Delight, a delicious harmony of steamed fish with ham, the Crab Claws with Tamarind sauce, Pan Fried Lapu-Lapu with Mango Sauce, as well as the Lobster Ball.

Chicken lovers should also try Good Earth’s Sautéed Chicken with Pine Nuts and Lettuce, Drunken Chicken with Century Egg, Shantung Spicy Chicken, and Crispy Peking Chicken. Beef and pork specialties include Spicy Nanking Beef or Beef in Oyster Sauce, Spareribs with Mandarin Sauce or Crispy Pork.

For inquiries and reservations, you may contact the Good Earth Tea Room Greenbelt at Tel. No. (02) 757-4561 to 62.

Although their tuna sashimi isn’t exactly spectacular when it came to serving size. It was pretty decent enough for the price of P99 (approx. $2). Fresh tuna sashimi that took care of my sashimi craving. I have this leaning towards Japanese food and the craving will come every so often and it’s almost always guilt free, no need for best weight loss supplement after meal. Too bad the only branch that I have seen Sushi King so far was in Metro Market Market.

Magnolia Korean Barbeque Strips is one of Magnolia’s wide range of ready to cook dishes. I am not really a big fan of things that are instant but as a work from home mom with four of our blogs getting scammed by its webhost, Dale Morgan of the former EzNet-Hosting.com, I have become rather busy this past week. Plus, this korean barbeque strips does not taste instant at all.

Suffice it to say, one of the many meals I have to cook during the week, Magnolia Korean Barbeque Strips saved our lunch! Preparation is easy. All you have to do is thaw it beforehand and just place it in a shallow pan and set the flame in medium heat. No need to add oil. Stir frequently and it is cooked in 12 minutes, tops.

Its ingredients are: Magnolia fresh chicken, water, soy sauce, sugar, sesame oil, spices, sesame seeds, MSG, flavors and citric acid. That’s the downside to getting instant foods, the MSG is almost always a non-negotiable. But then again, it is not something we serve on the dining table everyday. The convenience this pack of Magnolia Korean Barbeque Strips helped me serve something yummy to my family today, despite the busy me.

What I usually order in Yashinoya is their Gyudon (beef bowl) with green tea. I love their green tea, for sure. But there is always something about their Gyudon that’s a little too much for my taste. Their gyoza isn’t very remarkable as well. Their miso soup is also okay, nothing close to Hana’s of Little Tokyo. I could have a Yashinoya meal once in a while, but not very often.

The service crew of Yashinoya is good. I should say, better than most fastfood place in the metro. From their branch in Megamall to their more closer branch here in Stal. Lucia mall, consistent good service. Prices of food meals are all reasonable but you also can’t expect them to be very generous with their servings. So if you are taking some kind of diet pill, you don’t have to worry that you’ll eat too much.

The one place that I have taken for granted when we were still renting an apartment a few blocks away from this celebrated “gotohan” (porridge/congee place). This is until I found out that it has been featured many times in television shows. People from all over the metro actually know what could easily be considered as a lowly cheapskate’s food place. Their facade does not look better than your regular “carinderia.” A food place that you will just about shrug off at first glance.

tokwa – P7.00

lugaw with lomo – P23.00

their condiments

Last night, our total bill amounted to P107 (approx. $2.30). So cheap yet I was so full! We ordered practically everything our tummies (the hub’s and mine) could hold. We were so tired and hungry. 2 orders of lugaw with lomo, 1 egg, 1 lumpia, 1 tokwa, 1 tokwa’t baboy and 2 bottles of Tropicana juice.

Tony & Precy Gotohan in Comembo

Not sure about the address. All you really need to do is ask the people around when you get to Comembo, where the famous gotohan is, and anybody will point you to the location.
