This glorious tamarind shake from Abe is really a should try. It costs PhP105 (approx. $2.28) a pop and it is nothing like your regular shake. For one, it’s tamarind and that is not a very usual kind from any restaurant in Manila.

Its distinct and flavorful taste is just perfect for that healthy dessert you crave for. It will definitely rub off all after tastes and replace it with this sweet, tangy, distinctly yummy tamarind shake from Abe.

For that sugar high craving, this refreshment will deliver. From middle school up to this day, I am impressed that Goldilock’s has actually kept their recipe consistent. Not that mixing up a Sago Gulaman is difficult. Although, for a sweet tooth like myself, I actually find this treat a little too sweet for me. If I get one, I won’t be able to finish it all. We all know that all too sweet stuff can actually make you thirsty.

If I were asked what is the better choice, Chowking’s or Goldilock’s siopao, I would gladly answer the latter in a heartbeat! The former’s siopao is not just pricier. It’s okay for those who have not tasted better ones. But again, Goldilocks’ is the yummier pick. The pictures below will tell you why. The white bun from Goldilocks has rich fillings of chorizo and chunks of salted egg while Chowking’s bola-bola siopao has none whatsoever. I used to like it but that was before Goldilocks.

I forgot already how much Chowking’s siopao costs, from what I remember it was around more than a dollar each. While for Goldilocks, a
bola-bola would cost around
$0.85while an
asado is around
$0.63. Not bad, eh?

This is possibly the yummiest cordon bleu we have tasted to date. We have dined in Icebergs a handful of times but we only tried this dish last December 23. It is worth around $4 and my son really loved it!
The branch we went to was the one in Pasay.

The California Clubhouse Sandwich. Priced at PhP 165 (approx. $3.59) at Magnolia House in Q.C. A tripled decker sandwich (wheat bread) layered with mango crab filling, ham, egg omelet and veggies. According to the huge menu, it’s a best seller. But then again, if this is a best seller, then I wouldn’t dare taste non-best sellers from the menu.

Needless to say, it was not the best lunch I ever had. I should have tried one of their ice creams, the place being an ice cream house. Then I should have left the place happier.

Ohana is located at the second floor of Megamall Bldg. A. We have tried this place out basically because of its free WiFi for diners and soon found out that their barbeque dishes are not all that bad. They have this signature taste that seems to be evident in each dish. Their restaurant theme is unmistakenly Hawaiian, with the girl in a grass skirt serving the patrons and the background music that repeats itself over and over again. I swear the hubby and I still had their music in our heads hours after we left their place! I am so glad that during our last visit (last Saturday), they incorporated some other music aside from their theme song that goes, “Ohana! Ohana!”
This Chicken Musubi costs around $2.90 and it is Hawaii meets Tokyo kind of meal. It is not bad but I should say they have better meals.

It has been a while since I had my last cup of Ciao Bella. It was the very first gelato I ever tasted and it is so sinfully delicious. Too bad it is only available in two shops – Rustan’s and Shopwise. One pint costs a little over five dollars.
